Sports have always been a powerful tool for bringing people together, fostering friendships, breaking barriers, and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. Yet, for many individuals with disabilities, access to sports remains limited due to physical, logistical, or societal constraints. This is where 6InSuperAbile stands out as an initiative that seeks to redefine inclusion through sports, ensuring that individuals of all abilities can participate, compete, and thrive together in an environment that celebrates diversity, fair play, and unity.
Since its foundation in 2021, thanks to the vision of the Association Sola in Deo Sors-Ex Allievi Cavanis Onlus and with the support of Brombal company in Altivole (Italy), 6InSuperAbile has steadily grown into a leading inclusive sports event. What started as a local initiative has expanded year after year, drawing increasing participation from schools, sports organizations, social cooperatives, and institutions committed to breaking down barriers in sports. Set in the picturesque town of Possagno, a place known for its rich cultural heritage and the iconic Canova Temple, the event offers a unique setting where athletes with and without disabilities can engage in sports together, emphasizing teamwork, mutual respect, and the power of inclusion.
The 2025 Edition: A Grand Celebration of Inclusive sports event
The 2025 edition, scheduled for May 16th and 17th, promises to be the most significant yet, involving children, teenagers, and young adults in a wide range of adaptive sports. The first day will welcome primary and middle school students, while the second day will be dedicated to high school students and young adults. Throughout both days, participants will engage in activities designed to encourage collaboration and integration through disciplines such as golf and paragolf, baskin, minivolleyball, karate and parakarate, inclusive five-a-side football, tennis, pickleball, wheelchair tennis, adaptive climbing for intellectual disabilities, inclusive table tennis, and pet therapy. Each sport has been carefully selected to ensure accessibility while maintaining the competitive spirit and the joy of movement that makes sports so engaging.
Over time, 6InSuperAbile has grown beyond sports, incorporating cultural and artistic activities that further enhance its inclusive philosophy. Among the initiatives that have enriched the program are music therapy sessions organized in collaboration with Associazione Musicanova, the TasselloXTassello mosaic workshops, and educational activities at cultural institutions such as Casa Giorgione Museum in Castelfranco Veneto and Gypsotheca Antonio Canova Museum in Possagno. These complementary activities help foster social cohesion and strengthen relationships among participants, reinforcing the idea that inclusion extends far beyond the playing field.
The event would not be possible without the extensive network of organizations and institutions that support its mission. Partners such as Fondazione Brombal, the Italian Paralympic Committee of Veneto, various sports federations, local schools, and ULSS 2 Marca Trevigiana have played a crucial role in shaping the event, ensuring that it remains a model of inclusivity in sports. The involvement of trained volunteers and professionals further ensures that participants receive the necessary guidance, making the experience both safe and empowering.
The European Expansion: 6InSuperAbile Joins the Erasmus+ SportWay Project
As 6InSuperAbile enters its fifth edition, it does so with an exciting new dimension: its inclusion in the Erasmus+ SportWay project. Co-funded by the European Commission, SportWay is a transnational initiative involving Italy, Austria, and Slovenia, aiming to promote inclusive sports on a European level. The integration of 6InSuperAbile within this broader project represents a significant step forward, allowing the event to gain international visibility and facilitating the exchange of best practices in inclusive sports. This collaboration aligns perfectly with the fundamental mission of the initiative, which has always been to create a sports environment where every individual, regardless of ability, can fully participate and feel valued.
By joining SportWay, 6InSuperAbile is taking an important leap from being a national reference point to a European movement. Through this partnership, the event will benefit from new opportunities in training, volunteer engagement, and knowledge sharing, while also influencing a wider audience. The goal is to inspire other regions to implement similar initiatives, proving that inclusive sports are not just about accessibility but about changing perceptions and fostering an enduring culture of participation for all.
Looking ahead, the ambition of 6InSuperAbile remains clear: to continue growing as a leading force in inclusive sports, strengthening its network of collaborators, and expanding its impact on the communities it serves. Sports have the power to unite people, and through this event, the message is stronger than ever—sports belong to everyone. By continuing to push the boundaries of what inclusive sports can achieve, 6InSuperAbile is setting an example for the future, proving that true inclusion is about creating spaces where no one is left behind. The 2025 edition marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, one that reaffirms its commitment to accessibility, participation, and the universal joy of movement.
