What Is the European Week of Sport?

Every September, millions of people across Europe lace up their shoes, roll out their mats, or head out to the field to join the European Week of Sport (EWoS) — a major campaign by the European Commission to promote health, movement, and inclusion.

A Movement Across Europe – EWOS 2025

Launched in 2015, EWoS now reaches over 11 million people in more than 40 countries. Its mission? To get everyone moving — regardless of age, background, or ability. With the hashtag #BeActive, the campaign reminds us that sport belongs to everyone, everywhere.

SportWay’s Role in EWoS

We are proud to align our events with the European Week of Sport, especially by:

  • Hosting inclusive sports days in different countries
  • Promoting adaptive sports and fair play
  • Bringing together local communities, schools, and organisations
  • Encouraging participants to #BeActive in their own way

These actions reflect the values of the Erasmus+ programme, which supports access to grassroots sports, social inclusion, and intercultural exchange.

Inclusion on a European Scale

SportWay believes that being active isn’t just good for your body — it’s good for our communities. Through EWoS, we get to be part of something bigger: a shared European vision of joy, equity, and connection through sport.
